Lesley Barnes

A couple of months ago, I was honored when Scottish illustrator & animator, Lesley Barnes, visited my Etsy shop and ordered some 1920s German "Deutsches Reich" postage stamps for inclusion in a project she was working on. I couldn't wait to see the results of said project. And, well, she sent those "results" to me the other day, and I've been in a constant state of delirium ever since. Here's a photo of the vintage German stamps that Lesley purchased:

And here's the adorable piece she created:

The stamps appear in the boots and the orange vest! (To see a detailed view, click the image above) This illustration, titled "Long Horse," also appears in an even l  o  n  g  e  r version as the masthead on Lesley's brand new CargoCollective site!

Not only does Lesley have a spankin' awesome first name, but she's also brilliantly talented. I blogged about her monsteriffic "We Live in Your Book" bookmark series a while back; but, just in case you haven't kept up with her ridiculously stellar work, please... allow me:

From her series entitled, "Colonel Windpipe's Musical Brigade":

From her "Ace in the Pack" playing card series:

See more of Lesley's incredible work on her WEBSITE and FLICKR, and go buy some of her prints on ETSY while you're at it. Oh, and you can follow her on Twitter HERE.
